The repair included remodelling a broken section and remodelling with milliputt then sanding smooth. The sanding operation removed some of the existing finish leaving an unfinished slate surface. The product left a milky grey finish to the slate. The product works well if the original surface finish is intact but will not mask scratches, chips etc. There are cheaper products that will do the same job. As mentioned via email, this will only work on slate and not Milliputt as the slate blacking will not be able to penetrate correctly. We sell this product to many antique restorers throughout the UK and have never had any complaints when used correctly. Again I am sorry you are unhappy with this product on this occasion.
